Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 - Cobi's Journey - Box

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 - Cobi's Journey
Ages 6 and up

This is a huge game with 50 different character classes, over 300 monsters and loads of items to find and pick up. There is an extended conversation system which provides clues and directions. Every little sprite has something to say. Sometimes you just want to ignore the talk and get down to action.

In the introductory sequences, to save the island from being submerged, you must obtain keys to unlock new worlds where you do battle and collect a few monsters. But the real meat of the game occurs when you mate monsters to create a monster army with balanced and special strengths. Genetic engineering comes to the Game Boy.

The game plays on both the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance. The left and right buttons on the Advance is used to expand the image to fill the screen. Two variants of the game has been published - Cobi's Journey and Tara's Adventure. With Game Boys linked, playing the two games you have even more options.

The Prima's official strategy guide is almost a must. All the monsters are in color in great detail. Charts of all kinds display the monster stats, the personalities, the compatibility between different species for successful breeding. Just understanding the graphs is enough to improve SAT scores.
