Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron
The controls in this game are superior to any I have seen in the hand-helds. It scrolls in
only two directions – up and down, but the left and right controls spin the character about
so it feels that you have four degrees of freedom. An additional camera control that
changes view and the side step ability makes this game a joy to play. It's hard going back
to the standard side scrollers.
But, about the game. Mostly you have to undo the badness that Negatron has done – so
it's a little darker than the previous games – but that's good. Baddies throw rocks at him,
butterflies knock him off his feet, Cindy is under a sleeping spell, mutant mice attack,
viruses invade his computer and Jimmy is lost in a sea of darkness. There is the requisite
jumping and dodging hazards in order to find the necessary objects to set things aright.
After completing all ten different adventures Jimmy Neutron and Jimmy Negatron finally
go at it mano e mano. The game can be played with one or two players.
