Lumines II - Review

Lumines II
Ages: Everyone

It's a simple game of rotating falling blocks of four squares with two different colors so as to get as many of the same color squares of four as you can. A Time Line sweeps across the field erasing all of the same color squares and adds points to your score.

So why buy this instead of all the other "pick three, pick four" games? Because as you continue to play you get more and more background skins and music. Some are pretty wild – just play the attract mode at the start to see them. In-game music is from Bech, Black Eyed Peas, The Chemical Brothers, The Go! Team, New Order just to name a few. There are other modes of play, mostly competitive, for high score. Me, I'm just in it for the visuals. My one complaint is that they don't come on soon enough.
