SpongeBob Squarepants and the Creature from the Krusty Krab - Review

SpongeBob Squarepants and the Creature from the Krusty Krab
Ages: Everyone

The game on the Nintendo DS is very different from that on the GameBoy. There is little focus on the story, and the main activity is to move ahead, avoid hazards and make the best use of power ups. There is a flying level and of course the ubiquitous jellyfish. It is aside scroller with all movement and interaction done by swiping at the touchscreen. Strange not to use any of the buttons. Great for kids, if they don't wear through the screen.

In the GBA version the characters are the same, SpongeBob, Patrick Star and Plankton. SpongeBob gets the car and the plane, Patrick Star gets the space rocket and the shrink ray, Plankton just gets size. Altogether you must maneuver them across the scrolling screen. GBA comes with a "charge card" that you can use to download a SpongeBob surprise.
