We Cheer - Review

We Cheer
Ages: Everyone 10 +

When playing this game, you are likely to look a lot like you are playing Samba de Amigo, only waving pompoms instead of maracas. The game uses 2 remotes, right hand follows the red trace, left the blue trace. Practice - onscreen indicators are the necessary starting stage in learning how to translate the moves on stage to your own motions. Additional lessons work on your rhythm, and on basic, standard and advanced moves. It takes a while to get the hang of it and move with the flow.

There are some competitions:

  • The championship tour will take you to all parts of the country.
  • Cheer off - pits you against 2 or 3 other players.
  • Practice - is where you will spend time getting ready to do the moves.
  • Workout - should be called burnout. Your body shape changes depending upon calories burned.
  • Dressing Room - to change both your outfit and those of the team.
  • Squad Makeover - change face and hair - want an all red-headed team?
There are 31 songs to choose from. Saves are automatic upon exiting except for the team and uniform makeover sections, where saves must be indicated.

The teams are cute, big eyed and they don’t have the pointy chins like the standard anime characters. The game, while serious about showing you the moves is more focused on fun. It really needs pompom attachments.

Fun Factor: A good workout and fun too
Female Factor: No guys here
Player Friendly: Informative manual. No explicit statement about saves.
